Problem One
This is a right angle triangle. If it is not, then there is no way to do the problem. the right angle is across from the 19.

Formula
a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Givens
a = 17
c = 19

Sub and solve
17^2 + b^2 = 19^2
289 + b^2 = 361  Subtract 289 from both sides.
b^2 = 361 - 289
b^2 = 72              Take the square root of both sides.
b = sqrt(72)          Factor 72
b = sqrt(6 * 6 * 2)  Take 6 outside the root sign.
b = 6*sqrt(2)

This is one possible answer b = 6*sqrt(2)
The other is a decimal          b = 6 * 1.414 = 8.485

Problem 2
Remark
If you are just counting units then the answer is 11 (miles). If you want an answer that goes the way a bird would fly directly to it then the problem will look like this.

Givens
Points (4,3) and (10,8)

Formula
d = sqrt( (y2 - y1)^2 + (x2 - x1)^2 )
y2 = 8
y1 = 3
x2 = 10
x1 = 4

Sub and solve
d = sqrt( (8 - 3)^2 + (10 - 4)^2 )
d = sqrt(  5^2 + 6^2)
d = sqrt(25 + 36)
d = sqrt(61)  Answer

That's one answer
The other is the d = 7.8102 If you have choices show them please.

A rope weighs 800 grams per meter of length. What is the weight in kilograms of 12.2 meters of the rope?
finlep [7]

Answer: the weight in kilograms is 9.76kg

Step-by-step explanation:

1 meter of length of rope = 800 g

12.2 meters of the rope= (12.2meters x 800g)/ 1 meter=9760grams

We know that 1000 g = 1kg

 9760 grams = 9760/1000=9.76 kilograms

Solve the Equation below : t -1/3 = 1/8 Solve for t.
Mrac [35]

t-1/3= 1/8

t-1/3+1/3= 1/8+1/3

t= 1/8+1/3

Find common denominator for the fractions.

common denominator is 24

Multiply by 3 for 1/8

Multiply by 8 for 1/3

t= 3/24+8/24

t= 11/24

Percy has $50 in a savings account the interest rate is 10% per year is not compound how much will he have in one year
yan [13]

Answer:

$55

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Principal = $50

Rate= 10%

Time = 1 year

The simple interest formula is given as

A= P(1+rt)

substitute

A= 50(1+0.1*1)

A= 50(1.1)

A= $55

Hence the balance in her account will be $55

Solve the equation by graphing the related function:<br> -x^2-5=0
Lina20 [59]

Answer:

love youre profile it's from Saiki K

Step-by-step explanation:

We use the factoring form becuase our c is zero and it in standard quadratic form so we rather factor than complete the square or quadratic formula since that is longer to do than just factor.
