Which of the following best describes the cause of the Armenian genocide?
icang [17]

Answer:

Ottoman leaders feared losing parts of the empire to ambitious neighbors

Explanation:

The Armenian genocide happened in several campaigns. The main reason for it was that the Ottomans wanted to eradicate them as historical enemies and they didn't wanted to risk having an ethnic group that may cause troubles in the future. There were no problems with the two groups in that period of time, so it came very surprising that the Ottomans chose that moment to do such a horrific act. The Armenians got attacked, and systematically killed, dispersed throughout the country, put to live in places where the life is extremely hard, separated from the their families, and even taking the babies away and separate them from their mothers. The end result has been a decimated Armenian population, with an estimated 1.5 million people ending up dead.
