S + c = 154....s = 154 - c
20s + 10c = 2860

20(154 - c) + 10c = 2860
3080 - 20c + 10c = 2860
-20c + 10c = 2860 - 3080
-10c = - 220
c = -220/-10
c = 22 <=== baseball caps

s + c = 154
s + 22 = 154
s = 154 - 22
s = 132 <==== sweatshirts

Suppose z is proportional to the square root of x. If z = 717 when x = 9, find the proportionality constant k.??
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

  239

Step-by-step explanation:

Write the equation. Fill in the given values, and solve for the unknown,

  z = k√x

  717 = k√9

  k = 717/3 = 239

The constant of proportionality is 239.

Jen picked 3/4 of a gallon of strawberries in a half an hour.If she keeps picking strawberries at the same rate, how many gallon
sp2606 [1]

Answer:

3 gallons.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that Jen picked 3/4 of a gallon of strawberries in a half an hour.

Let us convert our given time in minutes.

1 hour= 60 minutes.

1/2 hour= 30 minutes.

So 2 hours= 120 minutes.

Let us find the number of gallons of strawberries picked by Jen in 30 minutes by dividing 3/4 by 30.

\text{The number of gallons of strawberries picked by Jen in 30 minutes}=\frac{\frac{3}{4} }{30}

\text{The number of gallons of strawberries picked by Jen in 30 minutes}=\frac{3}{4*30}

\text{The number of gallons of strawberries picked by Jen in 30 minutes}=\frac{1}{40}

Now let us multiply 1/40 by 120 to find the number of gallons of strawberries picked by Jen in 120 minutes(2 hours).

\text{The number of gallons of strawberries picked by Jen in 30 minutes}=120*\frac{1}{40}

\text{The number of gallons of strawberries picked by Jen in 30 minutes}=3

Therefore, Jen picked 3 gallons of strawberries in 2 hours.

noname [10]

Answer:

\boxed{\text{A. }\math{\left \{ x \, | \, x \in \mathbb{R}, x < -2 \right \}}}}

Step-by-step explanation:

The open circle means that the point is not included in the solution set, and the arrow pointing left means that all numbers less than -2 are members.

In set-builder notation, each term has a special meaning. The braces enclose the members of the set.

Here's how you translate the notation,

\begin{array}{rcl}\\\left \{ & = & \text{The set of}\\x & = & \text{all x values}\\| & = &\text{such that}\\x & = & x\\\in & = &\text{is a member of}\\\mathbb{R}, & = &\text{all real numbers, and}\\x < -2 & = & \text{x is less than -2}\\\end{array}\\\text{The answer is }\boxed{\textbf{A. }\mathbf{\left \{ x \, | \, x \in \mathbb{R}, x < -2 \right \} }}}
