Most of the time communism is dominated by a single party, and the ideal democracy has many- or non at all. Think of politics as a number line, left goes toward communism, and right goes towards fascism, and in the middle is democracy, in a democracy, the government shouldn't play an extreme roll in your life, but in a communism, it controls everything, from a humble farm, all the way to literally anything. It makes life easy, but really its a dream that can't really happen. There are many differences between communism and a democracy.

The government of a communist system controls their people's jobs, housing, and wealth. They get there job picked for them by the government. As for a democracy the PEOPLE choose for themselves on their jobs, education, housing, and wealth. theses are some of the big differences.

he decade had its problems. It began with the financial Panic of 1873. Railroads were growing so fast that nearly 6,000 miles were being laid down every year (17,000 miles between 1871 and 1873). With so much new construction, lending was strained and overextended.
