Kamila [148]

mariarad [96]

Answer:

Shipped large amounts of opium into China at a massive profit.

Explanation:

The profits were then used to purchase Chinese luxury goods such as porcelain, silk and tea. This trade led to the rise of opium addiction in China, becoming an enormous problem in the country. The efforts of the Qing dynasty to enforce opium restrictions resulted in what is known as the Opium Wars, both of which China lost.
