You first want to subtact 4n with n which would give you 3n. Then u would do
3n=2+ -4 Then you would add 4 and 2 which would give you 6. then u divide by 3 which would give u 2. N=2

Laura deposits 2000 into an account that pays simple interest at a rate of 4% per year. How much interest will she be paid in th
Tems11 [23]

Answer:

Interest paid to Laura is $320

The final amount is $2320

Step-by-step explanation:

Recall that the equation for simple interest is A=P(1+rt) where A is the final amount, P is the principal/initial value, r is the annual interest rate, and t is the time in years.

A=P(1+rt)

A=2000(1+0.04(4))

A=2000(1.16)

A=2320

Therefore, if the final amount is $2320, then the interest paid to Laura is $2320 - $2000 = $320

Lance has three times as many pencils as Nick, and they have 84 pencils together. How many pencils does each of them have?
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

Let Lance represented by L and Nick represented by N

As per the statement:

Lance has three times as many pencils as Nick

⇒L = 3N         .....[1]

It is also given that:

They have 84 pencils together.

⇒L+N = 84               .....[2]

Substitute the equation [1] into [2] we have;

3N+N = 84

⇒4N = 84

Divide both sides by 4 we have;

N = 21

Substitute this in [1] we have;

L = 3(21) = 63

Therefore, Lance has 63 pencils and Nick has 21 pencils
