Mercantilism was a<u> theory of trade </u>espoused by the major European Powers roughly from 1500 to 1800. According to this theory, a Nation should Export more than that of its Import to accumulate wealth so that it can make a difference.

The rise of the Mercantile Class is one of the biggest <u>cultural impacts</u> of the British Mercantile system. The class emerged through this system possessed more power than the traditional lower class. Another important impact of the system was the Transfer of the Culture through Colonial expansion.

The cultural impact of the British mercantile system is that it led to cultural exchange through trade with the rest of the world which made other cultures acceptable. It made America a melting pot whereby various cultures were accepted including the right of religious freedom
