Rational Root Theorem:

If the rational number x=\frac{b}{c} is a zero of a higher degree polynomial:

P(x)=kx^{n}+...+m

where all the coefficients are integers. Then b will be a factor of m and c will be a factor of k

1. Use the rational root theorem to enumerate all possible rational zeroes of the polynomial P(x)

2. Evaluate the polynomial from the first step until you can find a zero. Let’s suppose the zero is x=r. It will be a zero if P(r)=0. Then if this is true, write the polynomial as:

P(x)=(x-r)Q(x)

3. Repeat this process using Q(x) this time rather than P(x). The process finishes until we reach a second degree polynomial, then solve as it is widely known for a quadratic equation.

What are the coordinates of point B on Line AC such that AB is 3 times as long as BC? (Screenshots supplied to clarify)
algol [13]

Answer:

B(3.5, 0.5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

A(5,5), Xa=5, Ya=5

C(3,-1), Xc=3, Yc=-1

To find point B, we can use the partition rule, where AB = 3BC, so AB occupies k=3/4 of the distance AC.

B(x,y) = ((1-k)Xa+kXc, (1-k)Ya+kYc)

=(Xa/4+3Xc/4, Ya/4+3Yc/4), substitute values

=(5/4+3*3/4, 5/4+3*(-1)/4)

=(14/4,2/4)

=(3.5, 0.5)

If you can buy 1⁄3 of a pound of salami for 5 dollars, how much can you purchase for 9 dollars? Write your answer as a fraction
Degger [83]
Use this formula:

$5 = $9 then cross multiply 5x= 0.33 x 9
____ _____ You get 5x = 2.97 pounds
0.33 pounds X pounds Then you solve for X.
                                                                              Divide both sides by 5.
You get 0.594 pounds. Written as a fraction it becomes 59/100 or simply 6/10.
