"A great lion of a warrior" is an example of a ___?
simile
metaphor
couplet
Nesterboy [21]
Hey there!

"A great lion of a warrior" is an example of a metaphor.
It wouldn't be a simile because a simile is a sentence that uses the words "like" or "as", it wouldn't be a couplet because a couplet are two lines that rhyme.

Final answer:
The first option.

Hope this helps you.

In which one of the following sentences is the number written correctly?
almond37 [142]
There are actually two correct answers in this question.
The first correct answer is A - The college has an endowment of more than $187 million.
The second correct answer is C - One hundred and thirty-two people lined up to buy the tickets.

The reasons I chose two answers is that the rules for writing large numbers are complex and not everyone agrees with the same rules. The one rule that everyone agrees with is the rule that the writer needs to be consistent in the way he spells out numbers in a sentence.

how does the moon change in the course of the story "Embers of Moonlight"? Use two details from the passage to support your resp
Sergeeva-Olga [200]
Throughout the story, the moon dies. At the beginning of the story, she is bright and vibrant. However, at the end of the story, the narrator describes her saying, " Her once ivory skin was now crumpled...her arm...was thin and interrupted by bruised veins." Slowly the darkness of the night is taking over. The narrator describes her fading when he says, "she was dimming...Soon, I could only see a shimmer of white." At the end of the story the moon dies and leaves behind a few embers of "silvery, sparkling dust" which give the narrator hope.
