Step-by-step explanation:

"There are several flights that have very long delays."

True.  On the boxplot, we can see several outliers greater than the maximum.

"More than 25% of flights are either exactly on time or arrive early."

False.  According to the 5 number summary, 25% of the flights are between -55 and 13.  So less than 25% of the flights are on time or early.

"About 50% of flights are delayed between 13 and 35 minutes."

False.  According to the 5 number summary, 25% of the flight times are less than 13 minutes, and 50% of the flights are less than 35 minutes.  So 25% of the flights are delayed between 13 and 35 minutes, not 50%.

"About 25% of flights are delayed by more than 78 minutes."

True.  According to the 5 number summary, 75% of the flights are delayed less than 78 minutes.  Which means 25% of the flights are delayed more than 78 minutes.

mary purchased 3 1/2 pounds of bananas. If the loaf of banana bread requires 3/4 pounds of bananas, how many loaves of banana br
nikklg [1K]
For this one a simple way that you can think of it is that 1 pound of banana is equivalent to 100, 3/4 pounds of banana is 75, 1/2 pounds of banana is 50, etc.

3 1/2 pounds of banana = 350

3/4 pounds of banana = 75

If i want to find out how many loafs of banana bread I can make if ONE loaf requires 3/4 pounds of banana, and i have 3 1/2 pounds of banana then I divide:

350 / 75 = 4.66

So, with 3 1/2 pounds of bananas you can successfully create 4 loafs of banana bread. the remaining .66 is not enough banana to make another loaf.

Convert y =(x+1)(x-9) to vertex form
IgorC [24]

Answer:

y = (x - 4)² - 25

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a parabola in vertex form is

y = a(x - h)² + k

where (h, k) are the coordinates of the vertex and a is a multiplier

To obtain this form use the method of completing the square.

Given

y = (x + 1)(x - 9) ← expand factors using FOIL, thus

y = x² - 8x - 9

To complete the square

add/subtract ( half the coefficient of the x- term )² to x² - 8x

y = x² + 2(- 4)x + 16 - 16 - 9

  = (x - 4)² - 25 ← in vertex form

Let f(x)=x2−3x−4 . What is the average rate of change from x = 7 to x = 10? Question 6 options: 24 14 66 42
Fed [463]
Just find the slope between the points

basically find (f(10)-f(7))/(10-7)

f(7)=7^2-3(7)-4=49-21-4=24
f(10)=10^2-3(10)-4=100-30-4=66

slope=(66-24)/(10-7)=42/3=14
average rate of change is 14

Vol (pyr) = 1/3 b × h, where h = 15 and b = base = area of triangular base = 1/2 b×h, where h = 12 and b = 13
V = 1/3 (1/2×12×13)×15
V = (1/3×1/2×12)×13×15
V = 2×13×15 = 30×13 = 390 in^3
