However, the supreme court decision allowed Bush to win over Gore with a small margin. It was studied and analyzed, but the supreme court decided that the result would stand and decide the election. They closed the case and George W Bush assumed the presidency of the United States of America. The events of the votation in Florida violated article 2 of the United States constitution. Bush got re-elected in his next period and Barack Obama took power after him.
