Explain four different groups or categories of people with whom the manager deals or works

Business

There are various categories of people a manager often deals with. Here are four of those groups of people.

1. The Hostile Co-worker or Boss

A hostile colleague gives off a negative vibe. They are usually uncooperative and aggressive. They are unfriendly towards coworkers. It causes divisiveness among team members. When dealing with hostile colleagues, one must have tact and a diplomatic skill.

2. The Chronic Complainer

They are employees who are fault-finders and are always blaming others for their situation. The best way to deal with complainers is to involve them in problem solving. Include them in finding solutions to the problem and get their inputs. Divert their complaints to finding solutions to the problem.

3.The Super-Agreeable

This is the type of employee who always say 'Yes' to whatever you assign to them. These are the type of people who never say 'No.' The downside is that not all of them can meet the deadline and get all the tasks assigned to them in a specific period of time. There are times that they get too overwhelmed with all the tasks they accepted that they could not prioritize nor get all of them done at once. Make sure not to overload these super agreeable employees.

4. The Know-It-All Expert

Some employees are knowledgeable and have the technical know-how and some have just a know-it all attitude. These employees who have a 'know-it all attitude' are the ones who claims and pretends to know everything but in reality they little or no knowledge about anything. To deal with people with a know-it all attitude, talk to them separately and hear them out. Explain also your side and help them understand your point of view.

Identify factors that could prevent an older, established company from effecting an enterprise-wide, customer-centric culture.
leva [86]

Answer:

A more established company may find it difficult to implement an enterprise-wide, customer-centric culture due to the following reasons:

A) Existence of a Multi-Product Business Model

A business entity that is well established with a lot of years under its belt will find it a tough challenge to shift from a product-oriented business model to a customer-oriented business model.

To be product-focused simply means that that a company has woven its organisational structure around products. For examples, a company that is into the gaming business may have teams for their Sports Betting Section, another for their online gaming section, game hardware section, gaming apps section etc.

First, for these various teams, their performance metric will largely depend on how functionally efficient their products are.

Second, techy or geeky staff are seldom efficient when it comes to emotional intelligence - a key requirement for being customer efficient.

One way to handle this is to ensure that there is a central Customer Relationship Management team that oversees the customers for each product.

B) Organisational Inflexibility

As direct to the point as it sounds, getting market intelligence for with the intention to use them for decision making is challenging. What is tougher is the ability to implement the insights from such intelligence to effect a turn around in the way customers perceive and respond to a company's offerings.

The ability to quickly take gather market intel, agree on a strategic direction based on same and execute can be referred to organisational agility.

The more bureaucratic and hierarchical an organisation is (this, by the way, characterises older and more established business systems) the less agile it is likely to be.

Cheers!

How jse reported a negative impact of corona virus
Virty [35]

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) is pleased to announce that it has embarked on a process to incorporate JSE Investor Services Proprietary Limited (JIS) as a wholly owned subsidiary of the JSE by acquiring the minority shareholding of 25.15 % from LMS Partner Holdings. The acquisition is subject to the fulfillment of suspensive conditions. In November 2020, the JSE acquired a 74.85% shareholding in JIS (formerly Link Market Services South Africa Proprietary Limited). JIS provides Share Registry, Custody and Investor Services to its clients.

JIS CEO, Iqbal Haniff, will remain as CEO until June 2022, fulfilling his obligations as part of the transaction. A process to recruit for a new successor will begin later this year to ensure a smooth transition and handover period between the new CEO and Mr Haniff. This will support the JSE’s commitment to knowledge transfer, continuity in operations and trusted relationships with clients. Haniff will remain available thereafter on a consultative basis to JIS.

“I wish to thank Iqbal for his incredible leadership at JSE Investor Services, building the company over the years making it a full-service business that is meeting the needs of our clients. I look forward to working closely with him during his transition and continuing a long-standing relationship with him well into the future,” says Leila Fourie, CEO of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

In order to strengthen JIS’ proposition to its clients, JIS has reached an agreement with Investec Share Plan Services Proprietary Limited (“ISPS”) to acquire a portion of its share plan services business. The arrangement includes a licensing and support services agreement with ISPS for the share plan services administration platform. ISPS will retain the brokerage business within its existing business operation. This acquisition and association will enable JIS to expand its Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment and employee share administration services product offering. JIS will assume the relationship with over 90 clients, supporting JSE Group’s strategy to expand its client base and diversify its revenue.

“We are continuously looking at new ways to innovate and to service our ever growing client needs. We believe that this expansion into executive employee share services will create more opportunities for the JSE to provide the right solutions for our clients. We are excited about the opportunities that this initiative affords both JIS and Investec,” concludes Fourie.

Which of the following statements is true? Increasing dividends will always increase the stock price. Increasing dividends will
tiny-mole [99]

Answer:

Increasing dividends may not always increase the stock price, because less earnings may be invested back into the firm and that impedes growth.

Explanation:

if increasing dividends results in the company not having enough funds for reinvestment, then value of the company may go down, since value of a stock is the present value of all expected cash-flows from holding the stock. But, if the company is paying dividend from free cash flows, then the payment of the dividend will not negatively affect the value of the stock.

In summary, paying a dividend will not always increase the stock price, and will not always decrease the stock price.
