Breathing is required to carry out cellular respiration.

Explanation:

In general inhalation of oxygen and exhalation carbon dioxide is called breathing.

    Cellular respiration or aerobic respiration occur in presence of oxygen which is supplied by the process of inhalation. The inhaled oxygen is then transported by hemoglobin to various organ such as liver,muscle,heart  so that they can carry out glycolysis or breakdown of glucose to pyruvate and ATP.

      Pyruvate is then processed by TCA cycle pathway to produce carbon dioxide and the reducing equivalents such as NADH,FADH2 enters into electron transport chain to reduce oxygen to form water along with the formation of ATP molecules.

    The waste product carbon dioxide that is formed by TCA cycle binds with hemoglobin and then excreted from out body through exhalation.
