The right answer is "The Allies pushed Rommel’s troops out of Egypt and trapped them against more Allied forces in the west. "

This battle became known as Operation Torch, happened on November 8, 1942, when the Allies landed in North Africa, opening a new front for Afrika Korps troops. The intention was to accelerate the German defeat on the continent and relieve the pressure that the Soviets were suffering in Europe, dissipating the German forces. Stalin wanted a second front in Europe, but Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill preferred to start in North Africa.

The torch operation had 3 strategies:

  • Establish solid beach heads between Oran and Tunisia, allowing allied air and ground forces.
  • Quick and vigorous exploration of the beach heads, Algeria and Tunisia, allowing to march eastward, cornering in the rear the forces of Rommel that fought against the English in Eastern Africa.
  • Annihilation of Axis forces opposing the British in East Africa, and intensification of air and naval operations against the European continent through Italy, providing a future invasion.

Who supported Andrew Jackson in the election of 1828?
kenny6666 [7]

Answer:

B. the common man

Explanation:

Andrew Jackson who ran for presidency in 1828, had a campaign in which he gave prime attention to the interests of the common man.

He shared the same feelings with the common man and had among his plans, the removal of the national bank, which he believed was a tool for the rich to dominate over the common man.

The campaigns of Andrew Jackson and his election into presidency brought in a new era that was dominated by the common man.

The fact that Jackson came from a poor background made the common man feel he was one of them and therefore support him.
