An argumentative essay about censorship or other ways society limits free speech.
lidiya [134]

Answer:

In the United States, we have the First Amendment of the Constitution that guarantees us certain things.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This is less of a concern to some countries, such as China. However, modern communication capabilities can affect free speech in a lot of ways, both enhancing and diminishing, depending on how it is used. No matter how you look at it, freedom of speech will be affected in every country.

Herman Melville’s MobyDick is an American classic filled with symbolic meaning. One of the most important symbols in the story i
lions [1.4K]

The correct answer is B. the uncontrollable power of nature.

Moby D.ick is a symbol of nature - how powerful it is over humans and how humans will never be able to control it. Ahab tried to control it - he tried to defeat the whale, but the only thing he managed to do was lose his leg in the process, as well as his life later on. Nature cannot be controlled by mere humans - which is obvious if you read the excerpt above and how the whale managed to completely destroy the ship on its own.

Snezhnost [94]

Answer:

Siegfried Sassoon vs Rupert Brooke

Explanation:

Siegfried was a model soldier who turned into a passionate pacifist. Starting off with an exemplary military record for brave he soon became disillusioned with the war and developed a growing antagonism towards Britain´s military commanders. His poem The General makes it clear.

Rupert Brooke was a sort of poster-boy for the British idealism of the first war years. Unlike other poets he never lived to experience the horrors of the front line. Therefore he maintained a patriotic and romantic view of the Great War that started without a reason and continued 4 long years without even less reason.
