The sum of the measures of the angles of a triangle is 180. The sum of the measures of the second and third angles is five times

the measure of the first angle. The third angle is 16 more than the second. Let x, y, and z represent the measures of the first, second, and third angles, respectively. Find the measures of the three angles.

Step-by-step explanation:

z=y+16

y=y

:.z+y=5x where z=y+16

2y+16=5x

x=(2y+16)/5

.:z+y+x=180

y+16+y+(2y+16)/5=180

12y+80+16=900

y=67

z=16+67=83

x=30

A livestock pen is built in the shape of a rectangle that is four times as long as is wide. The total perimeter is 60 ft. Write
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

Perimeter = 60ft = 2(4x + x)

breadth = 6ft

length =  24ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter = 2 (L + B)

L =length

B = Breadth

x= breadth

4x = length

Perimeter = 60ft = 2(4x + x)

Dividing both sides by 2 :

30ft= 4x + x

30ft = 5x

divide both sides by 5

6ft= x

breadth = 6ft

length = 4x= 4 x 6 = 24ft

A cube has a surface area of 900 cm what is the number of cubic cm in the volume of the cube
Anna [14]
SA = 900cm^2
SA = 6×(s^2), where "s" is one side or edge of each square surface face
900 = 6s^2
150 = s^2
\sqrt{150}  =  \sqrt{ {s}^{2} }
\sqrt{25}  \times  \sqrt{6}  = s
5 \sqrt{6}  = s
So each side is
5 \sqrt{6}  \: cm \: long
The volume (V) of a cube is:
v =  {s}^{3}  =  (5\sqrt{6})^{3} =  {12.247}^{3}  \\ = 1837 \:  {cm}^{2}

The time between a flash of lightning and the sound of its thunder can be used to estimate the distance you are from a lightning
julia-pushkina [17]

If you count the number of seconds between the flash of lightning and the sound of thunder, and then divide by 5, you'll get the distance in miles to the lightning: 5 seconds = 1 mile, 15 seconds = 3 miles, 0 seconds = very close. Keep in mind that you should be in a safe place while counting.
