The largest angle of the quadrilateral PQRS is 120°

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Given that

\frac{\angle P}{2} =\frac{\angle Q}{3}=\frac{\angle R}{4}

3P=2Q   (1)

4Q=3R

Q=3R/4

Substitute the value of <Q in (1)

3P=2(\frac{3R}{4} )=\frac{3R}{2} \\6P=3R\          -->(2)

<P=3R/6=R/2

Comparing (1) and (2)

we get 6P=4Q=3R

In a cyclic quadrilateral, opposite angles are supplementary i.e their sum is 180 degree

<P and <R are opposite angles.

Hence

<R/2+<R=180

\frac{3R}{2} =180\\R=120\°\\

<S and <Q are opposite angles. Hence

<S=180-<Q=180-90=90°

<P=60°

<Q=90°

<R=120°

<S=90°

The largest angle of the quadrilateral is 120°(<R)

Five men can repair a stretch of road in 8 hrs. how many men would be needed to repair the same road in 3 1/3 hrs
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer: 12 men would be needed to repair the same road in 3 1/3 hrs. Inverse proportion because usually in work,food and time its inversly proportional.

8 hours --> 5 men

1 hour --> 5*8 = 40 men

3 1/3 hours --> 40/ (3 1/3) men

                  --> 12 men

(8/9)^2 I need to evaluate this
tigry1 [53]

(8/9)^2 is just 8/9 squared, or 8/9 * 8/9. This is 64/81, and cannot be reduced. This is therefore our answer.

Can you guys help me with this please it suppose to use the synthetic substitution or the remainder theorem.
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

  (b)  -36

Step-by-step explanation:

Synthetic division is often performed using a table of the kind shown in the attachment. The coefficients of f(x) are placed across the top, and the x-value to be evaluated is placed at the left. The rule for finding table entries is shown. (The first (left-most) number at the bottom is the leading coefficient of the polynomial.)

This table shows the remainder, which is f(-2), is -36.

__

The equation itself can be rewritten in "Horner form" to facilitate evaluation.

  f(x) = (((-x +2)x -1)x +4)x +8

In this form, substituting for x and doing the evaluation is easier for mental arithmetic. You will notice that the contents of parentheses at each level match the bottom line of the synthetic division table.

  f(-2) = (((-(-2) +2)(-2) -1)(-2) +4)(-2) +8

  = (((4)(-2) -1)(-2) +4)(-2) +8

  = ((-9)(-2) +4)(-2) +8

  = (22)(-2) +8

  = -36

  f(-2) = -36 . . . . remainder from synthetic substitution
