Trucking company charges a flat rate of $250 per truck

and $1.25 for every mile driven

The company has a budget of less than $950

Let the truck drive for x miles in that one way trip then we can write

\\ 250+1.25x

Hence the required inequality is

\\ 250+1.25x

Let the number of miles driven be x miles.

One way trip cost is $250 + $1.25 for every mile driven.

If number of miles driven is x then cost of driving x miles at the rate of $1.25 every miles is 1.25x

It is given the apparel company has a budget less than $950

we can write it as an inequality equation as :

250+1.25x<950

Solving the inequality for x we subtract 250 both sides

1.25x<950-250

1.25x<700

x<560

Numbers of miles driven is less than 560 miles

9-c=-13<br> What’s the answer
trapecia [35]
First you do -13+9. That equals -4.
Then bring down -c=-4 because there is a 1 in front of the c so -1c.
Next divide both sides by -1. The -c side cancels out so then your left with -4/-1.
That equals positive 4.
C=4
That’s ur answer.

A manufacturer of window frames knows from long experience that 5% of the production will have some type of minor defect that wi
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

a) 0.3585

b) 0.6415

c) 0.07548

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a binomial distribution problem

Binomial distribution function is represented by

P(X = x) = ⁿCₓ pˣ qⁿ⁻ˣ

n = total number of sample spaces = 20

x = Number of successes required

p = probability of window frame with minor defect = 0.05

q = probability of window frame with no defect = 1 - 0.05 = 0.95

a) Probability that none of the frames picked will have defects

x = 0

P(X = x) = ⁿCₓ pˣ qⁿ⁻ˣ

P(X = 0) = ²⁰C₀ 0.05⁰ 0.95²⁰⁻⁰ = 0.3585

b) Probability that At least one will need adjustment = P(X ≥ 1) = 1 - P(X < 1) = 1 - P(X = 0) = 1 - 0.3585 = 0.6415

c) Probability that More than two will need adjustment = P(X > 2)

P(X > 2) = 1 - P(X ≤ 2) = 1 - [P(X = 0) + P(X = 1) + P(X = 2)]

So, we evaluate each of that using the binomial distribution formula, slotting in the appropriate variables, and sum it all up.

P(X > 2) = 1 - 0.9245 = 0.07548

A 6 sided number cube is tossed. what is the probability of rolling a 6 or an odd number?
Veronika [31]
For any probability the formula is P_{desired}=\frac{desired}{total}. In this case we have 4 desired outcomes (the odds, 1, 3 and 5, and also 6) out of 6 total sides, so our probability P_{oddor6} =\frac{odd or 6}{total sides}=\frac{4}{6} = \frac{2}{3}.

Mutually exclusive means the events cant occur at the same time. In our case it is not possible to roll both a 6 and an odd number at the same time since 6 is even. Therefore the events ARE mutually exclusive.

Combine the two parts and C is the correct answer.  <span />
