Mandela will be remembered as a man who went beyond the call of duty. He showed his fellow countrymen that it was possible — perhaps even imperative — to forgive one's enemies. Mandela led by example, inspiring South Africa's political and racial rivals to work together to build a democracy. Mandela was such a powerful leader during apartheid that the white minority government considered him a threat to the state, even from prison.

Authorities banned the publication of Mandela's writings. They refused to allow the media to show Mandela's image. When he was finally released from prison, in February, 1990, most of the world had no idea what he'd look like. And that only added to the drama when he was released, which was clear in a live BBC broadcast on that day:

"And now, Mr Mandela walks through the gates. He's a free man, as of this moment. He's waving his fists in the air, he's smiling. He's a very alert, very imposing-looking figure, slightly greying hair, upright, a beaming Winnie Mandela alongside him."

As the older Sayuri narrates her story, it almost seems as though she presents Chiyo and Sayuri as two different people. In what
butalik [34]

Answer:

Inside our history there are a number of occurrences that compels us to think over again the different actions of ours and the way that we live today. There is no second thought or idea when we say men and woman have the same rights to live there lives more freely. But, it is very unfortunate that till this date there are some regions across the globe that human trade still exist and it has not started just now, but there are different cultures in which the trend existed from centuries.

  • Same is the case for an innocent child who's basic right to live with freedom and honor was confiscated by her own family and she was then left all alone to face the most unfortunate situation that she described in her writings after she got free from that fell place.
  • Sayuri is much different then the child that she was once, as she now has seen the brutality of all mankind and that she had faced some of the worst situation, starting from being sold to some strangers who treated her badly and then to been imprisoned by those men in such an unbearable situation. While, the littel child Chiyo is way different then her as she knows how to smile freely and has the freedom to speak. And more importantly the little child was not all alone but she was accompanied by her family irrespective of there financial and social situation she had her.
  • Its more obvious that human nature never changes when the women got free, she again had the same smile and will to live freely. And along with that being able to tell her story to the people around her and then to the whole world makes her the same child again, who was known as Chiyo.
