Stories share the situations and experiences of the characters in those worlds, as well as their decisions and behaviors when in those situations. As readers, we try to understand the characters and relate to them. Which can ultimately influence behavior when we are placed in similar situations, as we learn to perceive the world in a similar way that the characters in the story perceive theirs.
