Who was Mao Zedong? How did he come to be in charge of the Chinese Communist Party? How did he come to be in charge of all of Ch
nataly862011 [7]
Mao was a Chinese communist who wanted China to be put under a communist regime.

He came into power by taking on and defeating the Chinese nationalists who fled to Taiwan.

He enacted a one party system and had the government control anything

The first two decades of communist rule in China was pretty good. The economy was doing well and the country was stable. In 1997 I think, there was a revolution to end communist rule after the fall of the Soviet Union earlier in 1991. Hundreds and thousands of people would die. Hong Kong was given back to China but Hong Kong was allowed to have its own government until 2047. But China wants Hong Kong to be theirs and they’re doing everything they can to have the prosperous City.
