Cheese $1.99 * 1/2 = $1.00
Sliced Ham $3.29 * 3 = $9.87
Bread $1.59 * 2 = $3.18
Potato Chips $3 * 2 = $6
Salsa $1.39 * 1 = $1.39
Total $1.00+$9.87+$3.18+$6+$1.39
Total Spent $21.44

Coupon 1 $21.44-$4.00=$17.44
Coupon 2 $21.44 * 10% = $2.14
$21.44 - $2.14 =$19.30

Coupon 1 will save you the most money

Answer:

Coupon 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Purchase list :

1/2 lb cheese

3 lbs sliced ham

2 loaves of bread

4 bags of potato chips

1 container of salsa.

Cost of 1 lb cheese = $1.99

So, cost of 1/2 lb = 1.99 \times \frac{1}{2}

                            = 0.955

Cost of 1 lb sliced Ham = $3.29

So, cost of 3 lb Sliced Ham = 3.29 \times 3

                                             = 9.87

Cost of 1 loaf of bread = $ 1.59

So, cost of 2 loaves of bread = 1.59 \times 2

                                                = 3.18

Cost of 2 bags of potato chips = $ 3

So, cost of 4 bags = $3+$3  = $6

Cost of 1 container of salsa = $1.39

So, total cost of purchase before sales tax =0.955+9.87+3.18+6+1.39 = 21.395

Now The food sales tax is 3%.

So, 3% of total = 3% \times 21.395

                        = \frac{3}{100} \times 21.395

                        = 0.64185

Thus total cost including sales tax = 21.395+0.64185

                                                        = $22.036

Coupon 1: $4.00 off if your purchase totals more than $15.00

Since total cost is more than $15

So, $4 is off on total cost

So, total cost after coupon is applied = $22.036-$4 =$18.036

Coupon 2:  10% off if the total is more than $20.00.

So, 10% of total cost = 10\% \times 22.036

                                  = \frac{10}{100} \times 22.036

                                  = 2.2036

So, total cost after getting 10 % off = 22.036-2.2036

                                                          =19.8324

So, total cost after coupon 2 is applied = $19.8324

Hence coupon 1 will save the most money .

Determine the length of MN to the nearest tenth of a centimetre.
artcher [175]

Answer:

  b.  4.0 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The mnemonic SOH CAH TOA reminds you that the ratio of the adjacent side to the hypotenuse is given by the cosine of the angle:

  Cos = Adjacent/Hypotenuse

  cos(35°) = NL/NK

  NL = NK·cos(35°)

__

Similarly, it reminds you that the ratio of the opposite side to the hypotenuse is given by the sine function:

  Sin = Opposite/Hypotenuse

  sin(53°) = NM/NL

  NM = NL·sin(53°)

Substituting from the first triangle, we have ...

  NM = NK·cos(35°)·sin(53°)

  NM = (6.1 cm)(0.81915)(0.79864)

  NM ≈ 3.991 cm

  MN ≈ 4.0 cm

What are the values that go into the green box?
Temka [501]

Answer:

The value belonging to the green box is b

Step-by-step explanation:

QP uses the points Q and P

Q is (0,-a)

P is (b,-c)

The distance between the two points can be calculated using the distance formula;

D = √(x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2

(x1,y1) = (0,-a)

(x2,y2) = (b,-c)

D = √(b-0)^2 + (-c + a)^2

D = √(b)^2 + (-c + a)^2

Kahn Academy Question, Please help!
lara31 [8.8K]

g\circ f(-9)=g(f(-9))

By definition of f,

f(-9)=3\cdot9-8=19

and by definition of g,

g\circ f(-9)=g(f(-9))=g(19)=\sqrt{14-19}-10=\sqrt{-5}-10

which is undefined if f,g are supposed to be real-valued functions. If they're complex-valued, then \sqrt{-5}=i\sqrt 5 and g\circ f(-9)=-10+i\sqrt 5.

Grape jam costs $7.20 for a case of 12 and sells for $0.89 per jar. What is the markup per jar to the nearest cent?
IgorC [24]
The initial cost of each jar of grape jam is calculated by dividing the cost of one case by the number of jar in each case. That is,
                                       cost per jar = $7.20 / 12
                                        cost per jar = $0.6
The mark-up is calculated by dividing the difference of the new cost and the previous cost by the previous cost.
                          mark up = (($0.89 - $0.6) / $0.6) x 100% = 32.58%.
