So we take his before cost $416

then we subtract the bookshelf due to we are given that

so after subtracting $416 and $80 we get our next part to work with.

we get 356.

we then are given that each book costs $4 each.

we take $356 and divide it by $4.

4/356= 81.8 total of books

but it we can't have 1/8  a book so round up to 82 books.

A) 416=80+4x

B) 416=80+4x

    336=4x

    84=x

Mr. Harrison can buy a maximum of 84 books for his new bookshelf.

what does Whitehurst mean when he says that by the time he speaks with candidates "they've already been extremely vetted"
lubasha [3.4K]

The term "vetted" means "to make a careful examination," or "to investigate someone thoroughly." It is commonly used to ensure someone is trustworthy for a job. When Whitehurst says that the candidates have already been "extremely vetted," it is implied that the candidates were investigated to a great extent.
