Throughout the 1600s and early 1700s, the land along the Altamaha River, now a part of Georgia, was one of the most coveted terr

itories in North America. An area of rich natural resources and accessible waterways, the British claimed it as the southernmost part of their South Carolina colony. The Spanish regarded this claim as an obstacle to their mission of expanding their empire and Christianizing the natives in the New World. The French viewed control of the Altamaha as an opportunity for the eastward expansion of their empire while blocking Britain's advance southward. Due to these imperial threats, as well as possible attacks by now-hostile Guale Indians, the British, under the direction of Colonel Barnwell and Governor Francis Nicholson of South Carolina, established Fort King George in 1721. Based on the text, why was this particular location chosen for Fort King George? It was close to Christian missions. It provided access to major waterways. It was a place where few American Indians lived. It held little interest for Spain or France.

larisa [96]

The correct answer is: Dane knows that stress is anything that challenges him psychologically or physiologically and warrants some type of adaptation or adjustment.

Stress is how our bodies responds to what we consider to be a threat. The body's capacity of defending itself are activated because the person is sensing some sort of danger approaching. That "danger" can be real or not, but the way our body reacts will be the same. When we feel stress, is our body trying to protect us from that threat.
