In the example above, Nawaz is making an internal attribution by saying that his boyfriend broke up with her because she is unlovable. This is Nawaz' <u><em>personal reason</em></u> why her boyfriend broke up with her.

External Attribution- This type of attribution states that a person's behavior is caused by <u><em>situational factors.</em></u>

The example above can be turned into an external attribution if Nawaz will state that his boyfriend broke up with her because his boyfriend's parents think he should focus on school.
