In the late 1800s, a researcher by the name of Robert Koch developed a series of postulates (guidelines) that can be used to pro

ve that a given pathogen is the true cause of a disease.
Koch's Postulates
1. The suspected causative agent must be found in every case of the disease and be absent from healthy hosts.
2. The agent must be isolated and grown outside the host.
3. When the agent is introduced to a healthy, susceptible host, the host must get the disease.
4. The same agent must be found in the diseased experimental host.
Which of the following steps does NOT follow one of Koch's postulates?
Pick step that does NOT follow the postulates.
a) You are able to isolate a pathogenic bacterium from someone with a new type of pharyngitis.
b) You collect a throat swab from a family member who has also become sick.
c) A mouse that was exposed to a potential viral pathogen has died and you are able to isolate the virus from the liver of the mouse.
d) You give a patient an antibiotic to treat an infection.

Answer:

d) You give a patient an antibiotic to treat an infection.

Explanation:

Robert Koch is regarded as one of the fathers of modern bacteriology. This researcher discovered the anthrax bacterium and its transmission cycle. In 1884, Koch and Loeffler developed a series of rules that helped to understand the existing associations between a microbe and a disease. Koch used these rules to explain the causative relationships for two different diseases (tuberculosis and cholera); however, these postulates can be indistinctly used to explain the etiology of other diseases caused by both bacteria and viruses.

Which is present when sudan iii changes to deep orange or red
Leto [7]
Sudan changes to deep orange or red in the presence of lipids.  Sudan in not soluble in water lipids will absorb sudan's particle that will cause the change in color. Lipids will form distinct fat layer in the solution. This can be done during experiment where a macromolecule is unknown.  Application of this experiment applies in health such as during confirmation of excessive fat in stool. The affinity of this dye to the lipids is high and alcoholic solutions of sudan dye can also be used.

FinnZ [79.3K]
This type of passive transportation is called OSMOSIS.
Osmosis is a type of passive transportation in which a liquid moves from the region of high concentration to the region of low concentration. The movement usually continues until the amount of liquid on both sides are the same. This type of movement does not require energy because the flow is naturally favored, that is, molecules moves from high end to low end.

Animals that are the least specialized generally stand the best chance of survival when the environment suddenly and drastically
OverLord2011 [107]
The answer is Because they are able to adapt to different conditions.

The least specialized animals are those animals that can survive in a wide range of different environmental factors, unlike specialized animals which are very sensitive to changes. If environment changes suddenly and drastically, highly-specialized animals could not survive because those changes are beyond a range of different factors that affects them. The least specialized animals could adapt to different conditions. For example, one species (specialized) lives in a temperature of 20-25°C. The other species (the least specialized) lives in a range of temperature 5-50°C.
If temperature changes drastically from 22°C to 10°C, the specialized species could not survive and the least specialized would just adapt to those conditions.
