God made Adam, the first man, from the dust of the ground (Gen. 2:7) and He made Eve to be a help meet for him. The Flood came in Noah's days because man was doing "only evil continually"; so God saved only Noah and his family because "Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord" (Gen 6:8).
