I think you're saying that the exponent is (5x), and the equation is

6⁵ˣ = 20 .

IF so, then . . .

Take the log of each side:  5x·log(6) = log(20)

Divide each side by  log(6) :  5x = log(20) / log(6)

Divide each side by  5 :      x = 0.2 log(20) / log(6)

x = 0.2 · (1.30103) / (0.77815)

<em>x = 0.33439</em>

Ok so 6^5
6x6x6x6x6 = 7776

7776x=20

Then we divide each side by 7776

7776x = 20

7776 7776

X= 0.00257202

Math 7a using number sense to solve equations
Anika [276]
Simple...

you have: \frac{n}{3} =12&#10;

and

\frac{n}{3} =-12

To solve for....\frac{n}{3} =12

Multiply to remove the denominator-->>

3*  \frac{n}{3} =12*3

n=12*3

n=36

Then-->>>

\frac{n}{3} =-12

Do the same thing-->>

3* \frac{n}{3} =-12*3

n=-12*3

n=-36

Thus, your answer.

What is the definition of an exponential equation?
AlladinOne [14]

Answer:

An exponential equation is an equation with exponents where the exponent (or) a part of the exponent is a variable. For example, 3 x = 81, 5 x - 3 = 625, 6 2y - 7 = 121, etc are some examples of exponential equations

5x+4y=16 -2x-4y=-4 <br>Show your step by step process.<br>Solve the system of linear equations.
slava [35]

Answer:

x=1 and y= 5\frac{1}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this, lets take the first equation and find the x value.

Because it is ordered in standard form, we need to convert to slope-intercept form, and isolate the y.

5x+4y=16

-5x       -5x

4y=-5x+16

÷4   ÷4  ÷4

y=\frac{-5}{4}+4

or

y=-1\frac{1}{4}+4

or

y= 5\frac{1}{4}

Now that we have the y value, we can use this to find the x value by inserting it into either equation, since they both have y values in them. Going with the first one again, lets try it:

5x+4(\frac{-5}{4}+4)=16

5x-5+16=16

5x+11=16

    -11 -11

5x=5

÷5 ÷5

x=1 and y= 5\frac{1}{4}
