Mae sells newspaper subscriptions door-to-door. In addition to a fixed salary, she earns a commission for each subscription that

she sells. The table shows Mae’s total earnings, y (in dollars), from selling x newspaper subscriptions:
Subscriptions Sold and Earnings
Subscriptions Sold
(x) Total Earnings
(y)
1 135
2 145
3 155

Which equation best shows the relationship between x and y?
y = 10x + 125
y = x + 135
y = 10x + 135
y = x + 10

A. y = 10x + 125

Basically, we need to follow two formulas, beginning with the one below. It's quite easy once you get the hand of it. You're just inserting your numbers then doing the math.

m= \frac{y2 - y1}{x2-x1}

First, we need to find 'm'. To find 'm', we'll follow our first formula.

m= \frac{y2 - y1}{x2-x1} = \frac{145-135}{2-1}  = \frac{10}{1} = 10

m= 10

Now that we've solved for m, we have a new formula, and in the new formula we have to solve for 'b'. <em>*plug in your first y input*</em>

y = mx + b

<em>*plug in your first x input and multiply it by your 'm'*</em>

135 = 10*1 + b

135 = 10 + b

<em>*pretend that b is now your y and switch the old y position with the b*</em>

b = 135 - 10

b = 125

Now that we have solved for b, we need to go back to our second formula and plug all of our new 'm' and 'b' numbers in.

y = 10x + 125

<u>And there you go, your answer. :) </u>

<u>I hope this isn't too confusing! It's a little hard to explain through brainly, but hopefully you got what I was explaining, lol. I recently figured how to solve these formulas, and when I did, I was very happy. If you don't get it now, you will eventually, trust me. </u>

A line passes through the points (2,4) and (5,6) .
Alenkinab [10]

Answer:

Option B and D are correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: A line passes through the points (2,4) and (5,6).

* Case 1:

If a line passes through the points (2, 4) and (5, 6)

Point slope intercept form:

for any two points (x_1,y_1) and (x_2, y_2)

then the general form y -y_1=m(x-x_1) for linear equations where m is the slope given by:

m =\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

First calculate slope for the points (2, 4) and (5, 6);

m = \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} =\frac{6-4}{5-2} = \frac{2}{3}

then, by point slope intercept form;

y-4=\frac{2}{3}(x-2)

* Case 2:

If a line passes through the points (5, 6) and (2, 4)

First calculate slope for the points (5, 6) and (2, 4);

m = \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} =\frac{4-6}{2-5} = \frac{-2}{-3}= \frac{2}{3}

then, by point slope intercept form;

y-6=\frac{2}{3}(x-5)

Yes, the only equation of line from the given options  which describes the given line are;

y-4=\frac{2}{3}(x-2)  and y-6=\frac{2}{3}(x-5)

Rasek [7]
120% of 12 is 14.4.I got this by doing this:

12/x=100/120
<span>(12/x)*x=(100/120)*x       - </span>we multiply both sides of the equation by x
<span>12=0.833333333333*x       - </span>we divide both sides of the equation by (0.833333333333) to get x
<span>12/0.833333333333=x </span>
<span>14.4=x </span>
<span>x=14.4</span>

Answer:

Mochi

Step-by-step explanation:

Mochi

Each week theres a increase of 4 in Mochi's weight. So you will add 4 twice to get to the 5th week.

4th week : 17

5th week : 21

Kappa

In 4 weeks Kappa weighed 14, which is less that Mochi at the pace Kappa is going at.

on the 3rd week Kappa weighed 11

and 2nd week Kappa weighed 5

and 1st week Kappa weighed 3

Looking at the graph, we can give a rough estimate on the 5th week it's going to be 16 or 17 either way making Mochi heavier.
