Mae sells newspaper subscriptions door-to-door. In addition to a fixed salary, she earns a commission for each subscription that

she sells. The table shows Mae’s total earnings, y (in dollars), from selling x newspaper subscriptions:
Subscriptions Sold and Earnings
Subscriptions Sold
(x) Total Earnings
(y)
1 135
2 145
3 155

Which equation best shows the relationship between x and y?
y = 10x + 125
y = x + 135
y = 10x + 135
y = x + 10

A. y = 10x + 125

Basically, we need to follow two formulas, beginning with the one below. It's quite easy once you get the hand of it. You're just inserting your numbers then doing the math.

m= \frac{y2 - y1}{x2-x1}

First, we need to find 'm'. To find 'm', we'll follow our first formula.

m= \frac{y2 - y1}{x2-x1} = \frac{145-135}{2-1} = \frac{10}{1} = 10

m= 10

Now that we've solved for m, we have a new formula, and in the new formula we have to solve for 'b'. *plug in your first y input*

y = mx + b

*plug in your first x input and multiply it by your 'm'*

135 = 10*1 + b

135 = 10 + b

*pretend that b is now your y and switch the old y position with the b*

b = 135 - 10

b = 125

Now that we have solved for b, we need to go back to our second formula and plug all of our new 'm' and 'b' numbers in.

y = 10x + 125

And there you go, your answer. :)

I hope this isn't too confusing! It's a little hard to explain through brainly, but hopefully you got what I was explaining, lol. I recently figured how to solve these formulas, and when I did, I was very happy. If you don't get it now, you will eventually, trust me.

How do you do the last two questions?
Mashutka [201]

Answer:

P = 6200 / (1 + 5.2e^(0.0013t))

increases the fastest

Step-by-step explanation:

dP/dt = 0.0013 P (1 − P/6200)

Separate the variables.

dP / [P (1 − P/6200)] = 0.0013 dt

Multiply the left side by 6200 / 6200.

6200 dP / [P (6200 − P)] = 0.0013 dt

Factor P from the denominator.

6200 dP / [P² (6200/P − 1)] = 0.0013 dt

(6200/P²) dP / (6200/P − 1) = 0.0013 dt

Integrate.

ln│6200/P − 1│= 0.0013t + C

Solve for P.

6200/P − 1 = Ce^(0.0013t)

6200/P = 1 + Ce^(0.0013t)

P = 6200 / (1 + Ce^(0.0013t))

At t = 0, P = 1000.

1000 = 6200 / (1 + C)

1 + C = 6.2

C = 5.2

P = 6200 / (1 + 5.2e^(0.0013t))

You need to change the exponent from negative to positive.

The inflection points are where the population increases the fastest.

What is the first step when solving the following inequality x+2/-5<4? Group of answer choices A. Add 5 to both sides and DO
LiRa [457]

Assuming we're dealing with \frac{x+2}{-5} < 4, which is the same as writing (x+2)/(-5) < 4, then the answer is choice C.

We multiply both sides by -5 and this will flip the inequality sign.

-------------------------------------

Multiplying or dividing both sides by a negative number flips the inequality sign.

An example would be saying -2x < 10 leads to x > -5

What we can do is divide both sides by -2 and flip the inequality sign, or we could follow the steps shown below

 • -2x < 10
 • 0 < 10+2x ... adding 2x to both sides
 • -10 < 2x ... subtracting 10 from both sides; this is one way to see why the sign flip happens
 • 2x > -10
 • x > -10/2 ..... dividing both sides by 2
 • x > -5
