Explanation:  Maria knew that telephones and cell phones and computers were considered "high tech devices" that you had to buy in special stores. But how did they do what they did? How did they convert the words she said and the pictures her mom sent (Maria knew this stuff was called data) into the appropriate form that they were supposed to be in? This was definitely something to ask her dad. In the meantime, Maria decided to send Jennifer a funny picture of herself and her dog Spotty

The sentence may not use commas correctly for items in a series. If the sentence has an error, select the answer option that cor
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

The sentence does contain an error concerning the punctuation of items in a series. The best option to correct it is:

b. A true baseball fan will go to a game in any kind of weather—on a chilly April day, during the heat and humidity of August, on a rainy September weekend, and even in temperatures dipping into the 30s.

Explanation:

Let's highlight the mistake in the original sentence:

"A true baseball fan will go to a game in any kind of weather—on a chilly April day, during the heat and humidity of August on a rainy September weekend, and even in temperatures dipping into the 30s."

There are two items that should be separated by a comma but are not. There is no punctuation whatsoever between them and, since they are long items, it gets confusing. Readers may think, at first, they are still reading about the humidity of August, taking a moment to realize the speaker is now talking of September. To correct it, all we have to do it add a comma between the items. That is exactly what option b does:

b. A true baseball fan will go to a game in any kind of weather—on a chilly April day, during the heat and humidity of August, on a rainy September weekend, and even in temperatures dipping into the 30s.

How do you think
goldenfox [79]

Answer:

Well, our generation was born with the iPhone. This would lead all of us to have one of course. The events of which have happened obviously took a big chunk out of our lives, and most others didn't have that when they were 15-16.   The culture however has changed. Ladies used to be expected to wear a dress and have manners. Now ladies wear ripped pants and graphic tees. I don't think affected is the word. I think we've completly changed. Other generations didn't have a TV, nor a phone. They had to play outside all the time. We just sit inside with our faces in our phones. We don't have to work as hard to get what we want. Hope that helps!
