Answer:

d. Bork Bill

Explanation:

The Video Privacy Protection Act was a direct result of over zealous reporters checking on the "personal viewing habits" (information privacy) of a political nominee for whom the Act was named Bork Bill.

It was a bill passed (enacted) by the 100th Congress of the United States of America and signed into law by President Ronald Reagan on the 5th of November, 1988. The Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) was signed as a public law in reaction to the wrongful disclosure of the video rental records of Robert Heron Bork in a newspaper publication. Robert Heron Bork is a former Chief Judge of the court of appeal and was a Supreme Court nominee at the time when his video rental records were published by a newspaper. Therefore, due to the fact that US Congress passed (enacted) the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) during the period; it was nicknamed as Bork Bill.

Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

Total cost= $877,500

Explanation:

<u> First, we need to calculate the unitary variable cost:</u>

Unitary variable cost= 135,000 / 30,000= $4.5

Unitary variable cost= 180,000 / 40,000= $4.5

Unitary variable cost= 225,000 / 50,000= $4.5

<u>Now, the total cost for 35,000 hours:</u>

Total cost= Unitary variable cost*total number of hours + fixed costs

Total cost= 4.5*35,000 + 720,000

Total cost= $877,500

Washington Inc. issued $846,000 of 6%, 20-year bonds at 98 on January 1, 2009. Through January 1, 2017, Washington amortized $9,
MA_775_DIABLO [31]

Answer:

Bond discount at the issuance of bond = $846,000 - ($846,000/100 *98)

Bond discount at the issuance of bond  = $846,000- $829,080

Bond discount at the issuance of bond = $16920

Bond Payable = $846,000

Un-amortized bond discount = $16,920 - $9,840

Un-amortized bond discount = $7,080

Redemption Value of Bond = 102/100 * $846,000

Redemption Value of Bond = $ 862,920

Loss on retirement on Bond = Redemption Value of Bond - (Bond Payable - Un-amortized bond discount)

Loss on retirement on Bond = $862,920 - ($846,000 - $7,080)

Loss on retirement on Bond = $862,920 - $838,920

Loss on retirement on Bond = $24,000
