Make a system of equations:

c = # of children tickets
a = # of adult tickets

c + a = 592 tickets
3a = c (the # of children tickets sold was THREE times the # of adult tickets sold)

3a + a = 592
4a = 592
a = 148

# of adult tickets sold: 148
