The answer is: syntax

Syntax is the organization of words and phrases to produce well-formed sentences in a language. In this case, the arrangement of words is incorrect mainly because in English syntax rules do not allow the definite article the to precede a single adjective like cautious or a verb, such as barked. Finally, adjectives must come before nouns; for example, man.

Alchemists, _____ wanted to transform base metals into gold, were also among the first people to conduct laboratory experiments is option D. WHO

It is a non-defining realtive clause. Non-defining realtive clauses add extra information to a sentence by defining the noun. That can be used as a replacement of which or who in defining relative clauses. But it is not correct to use THAT to replace shich /who in non defining realtive caluses

Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Answer:

The emotion of this example is shown in the choice of words that makes it seem that Scrooge did not willfully or consciously try to do harm.

Explanation:

The language shows emotion with the use of words like reverent and disclaimed. This means that Scrooge respectfully denied being conscious or aware of ever having offended the Spirit who was visiting him. At this point in the story Scrooge seems to be resigning himself to the fact that the Spirits have critiques of his treatment of others throughout his life, although Scrooge seems to genuinely not have realized at least in every case how much his behavior had impacted others.
