"The Autobiography of Malcolm X" by Malcolm X and Alex Haley was a book that details the life of Malcolm Little from his childhood till his later years. The book became one of the most read and the most sought non-fictional book of all times.
Even though it was a product of Haley's interview with Malcolm, the book was directly addressed to the readers making it easily relatable to them. In chapter I of the book, Malcolm mentions one instance when the State Welfare people used to visit their home.
