Directions: Read the following excerpts from journal entries written by teens. In each case, identify behaviors that are health
Arlecino [84]

Answer:

1. Health Risks: The car doesn't have safety belts! Even if Devon is a safe driver it is never okay to go fast (above speed limit.)

Rewrite: Install safety belts and drive safely, it may be fun to go fast, but it is incredibly dangerous.

2. Health Risks: Not burning off the calories after eating an unhealthy meal.

Rewrite: After having an unhealthy meal, going on a walk is a good way to burn off some of the calories from the meal. Sleeping is not.

3. Health Risks: Drinking! Just because everyone else is drinking doesn't mean you should, even if you want to fit in!

Rewrite: Instead of going, you could choose to avoid the party. If you do plan on going to the party, be responsible and say no to drinking. However, the better option is to just avoid going, this will keep you safe from peer pressure and other factors that may lead to an unhealthy choice.

I hope this helps you! :)
