Deposition is the process of sediment being placed in a new location.

When sediment is carried away, this process is called Erosion.

Explanation:

Deposition is the process in which the sediments are placed in a new location. Sediments are the tiny particles formed by the rocks or dead plants and animals.

If these sediments are present on the top layer of the earth and is loose then they are carried away to a new location by air and water.

Soil erosion also removes the nutrients from the area and makes it infertile. Deforestation is one of the major causes of soil erosion.

Wind, water, and gravity transport earth materials (silt) in a procedure called erosion. In the end, each residue is set down in a procedure called Erosion.

Lignin and cellulose provide rigidity to the cell walls of plants. But in most fungi, chitin performs this role. Why is it logic
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

Fungi most fungi produce cellulases.

Explanation:

Fungi are eukaryotic microorganisms, however unlike other eukaryotes. Their cell wall is made up of chitin instead of cellulose.

Chitin is a fibrous polysaccharide found in the exoskeleton of arthropods and the cell wall of fungi. where as cellulose is also a polysaccharide which is an important structural component of plant cell wall.

Since fungi are saprophytic they produce enzymes such as cellulases that will help in breakdown of cellulose for food.

They cannot have a cell wall made of cellulose.

The ligation you carried out in Laboratory 3 can result in a number of plasmids, but none of these have been replicated in a bac
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Nicked circle is the reason.

Explanation:

During recombinant DNA technology the gene of interest is ligated to plasmid DNA by excision with molecular scissors or endonuclease enzyme and ligated with enzyme ligase.

Enzyme ligase catalysed by ATP seals the nicks by making phosphodiester bonds in the ds or ss DNA and release of ADP.

The ligation in the plasmid did not occur properly hence the replication is interrupted hence no new plasmids with gene of interest replicated in the ligation carried out.

The effectiveness of two antibiotics administered together may be greater than the effectiveness of either antibiotic used alone
aleksley [76]

Answer:

The correct answer is: enhanced zones of inhibition in the area between two adjacent disks.

Explanation:

 • According to the question, the two antibiotics show the property of Synergism.
 • Synergism can be defined as the property of two drugs, where the efficiency of activity (killing the bacteria) obtained on using the two drugs together is far more than the efficiency obtained by using individual drugs separately.
 • In the disk diffusion method, the efficiency in activity (killing of bacteria) of two drugs is determined by plating a nutrient agar media with the particular target bacteria and adding the two antibiotics in two discs separated from each other by a certain distance.
 • Both the antibiotics diffuse into the agar media from the discs and kill the target bacteria.
 • Zone of inhibition can be defined as the circular clear zone on the nutrient agar plate obtained after allowing the bacteria to grow for the required period of time. This is the region where no bacteria grow as they are killed by the antibiotics used.
 • Depending upon the efficiency of the antibiotic used and also its ability to diffuse into the nutrient agar medium, bacteria tends to grow near the periphery of the nutrient agar plate where the antibiotic fails to reach.
 • In the question, as the two antibiotics used show synergistic effect, the region on the nutrient agar plate in between the two discs, where both the antibiotics are able to percolate will show a larger zone of inhibition.

The type of climax vegetation that grows in a particular climate zone is influenced mostly by
zloy xaker [14]

Answer;

Climatic limitations of the area

Explanation;

 • Climatic climax is a stage in which the plant species live in perfect balance with the current environmental conditions. Although climate is the major influence on vegetation at a global scale, on a local scale other factors such as drainage, geology and relief affect plant growth.
 • In the process of ecological succession, one community replaces another until a climax community is established. The type of climatic vegetation that grows in a certain geographical area is most directly influenced by a climatic limitations of an area.
 • A climax community is able to exist in a certain geographic region for a long period of time because it remains in equilibrium with the environment.
 • Ecosystems tend to change with time until a stable system is formed. All stable ecosystems are characterized by the presence of a specific climax vegetation influenced by the climate of the area.
