Answer:

Part A:  5 1/3 + b = 9

Part B:  11/3 of bushels or 3.7 or 3 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A is simple because 5 1/3 apples plus the leftover must equal 9.  So 5 1/3 + b = 9

Part B is also pretty easy because all you need to do is subtract 5 1/3 apples from 9 to find what b is.

b = 9 - 5 1/3

b = 27/3 - 16/3

b = 11/3

During a test period, an experimental group of 10 vehicles using an 85 percent ethanol-gasoline mixture showed mean CO2 emission
Zinaida [17]

Answer:

-1.683

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Group 1 :

x1 = 667 ; n1 = 10 ; s1 = 20

Group 2 :

x2 = 679 ; n2 = 14 ; s2 = 15

The test statistic assuming equal variance :

x1 - x2 / √[Sp² * (1/n1 + 1/n2)]

sp² = [(n1 - 1)*s1² + (n2 - 1)*s2²] ÷ (n1 + n2 - 2)

Sp² = [(10 - 1)*20² + (14 - 1)*15²] = 296.59

Test statistic =

(667 - 679)/ √[296.59 * (1/10 + 1/14)]

-12 / 7.1304978

Test statistic = - 1.682

The rectangle has an area of x^2-7x+10 square meters and a width of x−5 meters. What expression represents the length of the rec
Katyanochek1 [597]

Answer:

length = x - 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Area (A) of rectangle = lw ( l is the length and w the width )

A = x² - 7x + 10 = (x - 2)(x - 5) ← in factored form

l = \frac{A}{w} = \frac{(x-2)(x-5)}{x-5}

cancel the factor (x - 5) on the numerator/ denominator, hence

l = x - 2
