Answer:

Omaha Beach is the code name given by the allies to one of the five beaches on which the Normandy landings took place, on 6 June 1944. The beach, 8 kilometers wide, runs from Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes to Vierville -sur-Mer in the Calvados department of the Lower Normandy region of France.

The first troops to land on the beach were those belonging to the 29th Infantry Division of the United States, in the western sectors, and the now expert 1st Infantry Division, also American, in the eastern sectors. Both divisions were framed in the US Army Corps under the command of General Omar Bradley, aboard the cruiser Augusta.

On this beach the Allies register the greatest number of losses, since it was the zone with greater German fortifications, composed of mines, bunkers and great amount of men.

Which best defines sectionalism
notka56 [123]

Sectionalism is the idea that a person is loyal to the region in which they live rather than their country. This was seen in the United States, especially during the pre-Civil War years. During this time, also known as the antebellum era, many Northerners and Southerners identified themselves by the region they live rather than as Americans. This was caused by several different factors, one of the most prevelant being whether or not the institution of slavery should be expanded into new territories gained by the US during westward expansion.
