Which statement is true about recessive traits?

Biology

Answer:

Recessive traits can only be expressed with recessive alleles.

Explanation:

According to the law of dominance as proposed by Gregor Mendel, an allele of a gene is capable of masking the phenotypic expression of another allele in the same gene. This allele that masks or that is expressed is called DOMINANT allele while the allele being masked is the RECESSIVE allele.

The dominant allele is responsible for the dominant trait in the organism. Hence, the dominant trait will be expressed when the dominant allele and recessive allele combines (heterozygous). However, the recessive trait is only expressible when the recessive alleles are the same in the gene.

A chemical is used to stop mitosis during ____________ when chromosomes are most highly compacted and condensed.
boyakko [2]
Answer is Prophase

Prophase is characterized by duplication of genetic material and the condensing of the chromatin to chromosomes. This is especially useful in cytogenetics, a genetic study of chromosomes in a cell.
The chemical called mitotic inhibitors, inhibit the formation of microtubules that pull the chromosomes apart, an essential function of mitosis.

4. What specific tool is used to way the cost of benefit versus cleanup in the environment?
ohaa [14]

Answer:  Marginal analysis

Explanation:

Marginal analysis is used to evaluate the marginal benefits and marginal costs of reducing pollution.

As the complexity of environmental protection grows, inexpensive and simple ways of mitigating emissions start to decrease, and more costly approaches need to be used and the marginal cost is increasing. Often, marginal benefits are reduced as environmental security increases.

As the amount of protection for the environment rises to, the marginal costs outweigh the marginal benefits. Society is not allocating resources effectively at this stage of environmental security, since so many resources are giving up to reduce emissions.

As the scope of the environmental regulation grows, additional environmental spending will likely result in increased marginal costs.

Hence, marginal analysis is a specific tool used to way the cost of benefit versus cleanup in the environment.
