Red algae can grow at deeper depths when compared to other algal groups because they are adapted to absorb blue light, which is required for photosynthesis.

Explanation:

Red algae, also known as rhodophyta, usually occur in the depths of seas. This is because of a unique adaptation in their structures, due to the presence of phycoerythrin - a pigment that reflects light that is red, while equipping the algae to absorb blue light. Hence, the algae appears red in colour.

All plants (including algae) require sunlight to be able to synthesize their own food through the process of photosynthesis. For plants that live in the oceans, the sunlight penetrating the waters is the only source of radiation in this regard.

The blue light in the radiation spectrum has the characteristic features of having the highest energy, as well as the shortest wavelength. This makes it the most energetic section of light, enabling it to penetrate to the ocean depths.

The phyrcoerythrin in the red algae absorbs this blue light for photosynthesis. This process occurs even at depths upto 500 feet, hence becoming an adaptive advantage for red algae to be able to survive at greater depths.

For a few hours, some satellites experienced electrical failure and at the same time, radio communications at high latitudes were also disrupted. Which is an astronomer most likely to predict was the cause coronal mass ejections.

Explanation:

A process of a release of plasma with magnetic field from the cornea of sun refers to a coronal mass ejection (CME). These usually happen during the time of a solar prominence eruption. These will be following solar flares. IN the solar wind the plasma will be released and it will get observed by the images taken by coronagraph.

During this process solar particles will be sprayed out. These will be thrown into solar winds and will be very dangerous during the time they reach the earth. This will create an adverse effect and a serious disruption in the environment.

Sarah and Sally both have freckles. So does their mother. Which answer best explains how the girls inherited the trait of freckl
AVprozaik [17]

DNA makes up our chromosomes. Chromosomes have many gene and these genes code for specific traits, like freckles, eye color, height, and even gender. The girls' mother had the gene(s) for freckles. When their mother and father reproduced and had children, the gene for freckles was passed to the girls through their mother's eggs. . They might not have received the gene for freckles. In this case, they did.

Describe the events that happen during the following phases of photosynthesis:
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

Photosynthesis consist of two types of reaction 1 light dependent reaction 2 light independent reaction or dark reaction.

Explanation:

                        light dependent reaction

light dependent reaction or light reaction occur in the thylakoid of granum of chloroplast.During light reaction light energy is absorbed by various pigments of the photosystem and is finally converted into chemical energy.

During light reaction water is split in presence of sunlight to form H+ and OH- ions. The OH- ions releases electron. The released electron is then transported through various electron carriers resulting in the formation of ATP molecule by cyclic photo phosphorylation and NADPH by noncyclic photophosphorylation.

                          Light independent reaction

Light independent reaction or dark reaction occur in the stroma of chloroplast. The ATP and NADPH that is formed during light reaction is used as 3:2 ratio for per molecule of glucose production.

3. How do amphibians make up the deficiency in their circulatory system?
daser333 [38]

Answer:

Modern amphibians are characterized by the flexibility of their gaseous exchange mechanisms. Amphibian skin is moistened by mucous secretions and is well supplied with blood vessels. It is used for respiration to varying degrees. When lungs are present, carbon dioxide may pass out of the body across the skin, but in some salamanders there are no lungs and all respiratory exchanges occur via the skin. Even in such animals as frogs, it seems that oxygen can be taken up at times by the skin, under water for example. Therefore, regulation of respiration occurs within a single species, and the relative contribution of skin and lungs varies during the life of the animal.
