A direct result of President Lincoln winning the Election of 1860 was that South Carolina seceded from the Union. His victory triggered declarations of secession by seven slave states of the Deep South, and their formation of the Confederate States of America in 1861.

The southern states rejects lincoln because  he was the prominent anti-slavery supporters. If slavery is ended, southern states will suffer an economic blow because most of their labors was operated using slave labor. Because of this, they started to secede from the union.</span>
