Which sentence in this excerpt forms the purpose statement for a speech about the negative effects of watching too much televisi

on? Television is a good form of entertainment. But watching excessive amounts of television can lead to some serious issues. Today, I’m going to talk about the dangers associated with watching too much television and how we can combat them. Child psychologists have found that kids who watch too much TV fare significantly worse than their counterparts who spend their time doing more productive activities, such as reading. Studies have also shown that television hinders kids’ mental faculties and growth; there’s a reason why it’s famously referred to as the “idiot box.”

If I met my seven year old self today,
Talja [164]

Answer:

The narrator is saying that they used to think the world was some magical place with no flaws, and then they realized it was otherwise.

"Or would I leave her be naïve, to keep having fun?" The narrator is going back and forth between leaving themselves innocent, so that they can enjoy it while it lasts.

The author is considering this because "I would give up everything I have, to view life through her eyes again." As a child, she was innocent, and loved the world, and is wistful to feel the same way again.

Hope this helps :)
