Why is it important for citizens to understand about prohibition

History

Prohibition was important because it showed that prohibiting something can have the opposite effect, making it more desirable, hence "we only want what we can't have". By banning alcohol, many people started making their own homemade liquor and sometimes with dangerous and unhealthy ingredients. In The Prohibition, we also saw the rise of organized crime and gang violence.

Why does an oasis occur?
Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

An oasis can be formed by an underground aquifer or river that creates enough pressure for water to seep to the surface, forming the oasis. These aquifers and natural springs allow for life to exist in harsh climates like the desert and are often well known to local herders, farmers, and travelers in the region.

Question 4 (2 points)

The purpose that Otto Lais mentions the number of bullet rounds used at the Battle of the Somme was to convey D. a sense of patriotism.

Otto Lais was a German machine gunner. He wrote the un-dated memoir to recount his Somme experiences on July 1, 1916, the first day of the war.

Thus, the memoir does not show Otto's disgust for war or hatred of the British. The document does not convey that the number of bullets fired was extraordinarily large, but the memoir shows Otto's sense of patriotism.
