The correct answer is - D. Composite.

The rocks are divided into three basic groups, igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks, and metamorphic rocks, with later classifications taking place into those three groups.

The igneous rocks are the newest rocks. They form from the cooling magma, and they are the basis for the evolution of the other two types of rocks. These rocks are also the strongest.

The sedimentary rocks form after millions of years of erosion of the igneous rocks, and then the eroded parts are getting stuck together with high temperatures, pressures, or natural agents that act like glue.

The metamorphic rocks are rocks that are forming deep into the ground, and they come to be after one of the other two rock types undergoes high temperatures and pressures for prolonged period of time underground.
