Government has no more to do with the religious opinions of men than it has with the principles of mathematics....Let every man speak freely without fear, maintain the principles that he believes, worship according to his own faith, either one God, three Gods, no God, or twenty Gods....Let government protect him in so doing." Baptist minister John Leland penned these famous words in 1776. They are reprinted in The Writings of John Leland (1969), edited by L. F. Greene. During his campaign for the presidency in 1800, Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826; served 1801–9) quoted Leland's words.
Religious freedom is a pillar of individual liberty in America. But while the pillar stood firm in early America, views of religious freedom slowly evolved in the 1600s and 1700s. When settlers first journeyed to the New World's eastern shores in the early 1600s, religious freedom meant freedom to establish a colony that followed specific religious principles. There was no religious freedom within the colony. All colonists worshipped in the church of the colony; if anyone refused to do so, he or she had to leave the colony.

OLga [1]

Answer:

E. Values are the relatively permanent and deeply held underlying beliefs and attitudes that help determine a person's behavior.

Explanation:

Values are the basic and fundamental beliefs a person or society has about behaviour and what things are important. Therefore, they motivate or guide everybody's actions. Since they serve as broad guidelines, values may include the idea that employees should be promoted solely on the basis of merit, that no bribes will be paid to foreign officials to obtain business licenses, and that companies should offer extended maternity leave upon the employee's request.

Which are appropriate questions to ask when anticipating and profiling your audience? check all that apply.
Rom4ik [11]

How much does the audience know about my topic?

What do I know about the audience's education, beliefs, culture, and attitudes?

How will the audience react to my message?

These are appropriate questions to ask when anticipating and profiling your audience.

Just as any business thrives or dies on how well it meets the demands of its customers, the success of any communication depends on how well the sender meets the needs and expectations of the audience. That audience can be people or groups you know.

Tailor the content and style of your questions to what you know or can guess, even if it's a person or group you don't know. Adjust content level of detail, tone of voice, word choice (phrasing), grammar, and overall style (formal or casual) based on how your audience is profiling. Audience profiling and analysis requires skill and thought.
