Read this excerpt from The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, and then answer the question that follows. When Dorothy was left alone

she began to feel hungry. So she went to the cupboard and cut herself some bread, which she spread with butter. She gave some to Toto, and taking a pail from the shelf she carried it down to the little brook and filled it with clear, sparkling water. Toto ran over to the trees and began to bark at the birds sitting there. Dorothy went to get him, and saw such delicious fruit hanging from the branches that she gathered some of it, finding it just what she wanted to help out her breakfast. Then she went back to the house, and having helped herself and Toto to a good drink of the cool, clear water, she set about making ready for the journey to the City of Emeralds. What point of view is used in the excerpt? first-person protagonist third-person omniscient second person first-person observer

Mrs. Willard wants to know generally how the benefits under Original Medicare might compare to the benefits package of a Medicar
11111nata11111 [884]

Medicare from the Govt has parts A and Part B

A pays the hospitals and no charge fee to you.

B pays doctors and medical services you pay this year, 2021, $148 per month.

Together they pay about 80% of all expenses. You're liable for the 20% GAP in coverage.  Now two parts

Original Medicare

Then you can buy, and we always recommend GAP insurance called Medicare Supplements.  There are many forms of GAP coverage.

Private insurance firms have gap programs.  A plan known as G pays most if not all of the GAP.  You generally don't have to change doctors or providers.

Medicare Advantage

"Private Insurance Companies" pay the GAP and sometime have more benefits as you have seen on the TV commercials that SCREAM at you to get the Medicare Advantage Program.  You are required to use their network of providers and hospitals.

Bottom-line  Make sure your providers are in the network of the Medicare Advantage plan, if not find a plan that does or changes providers.

Medicare Advantage plans are less expensive and you can save money but just make sure.  You also have the right by law to go back to "The Original Medicare Plan."

Check the questions a listener should ask himself to judge a speaker's speech (Mark all that apply.).
horrorfan [7]
I would say that all these questions are valid and to the point though perhaps a little less so re the dress. If the speaker is logical, gives sufficient evidence based on solid facts and obviously knows his subject either being an authority on the subject or showing that he/she has closely consulted with those who are, then the speech should be well received.

What is the most likely meaning of the metaphor in this sentence?
Fofino [41]

Answer:

C. The metaphor comparing the boy's legs to lead weights suggests

that he is moving slowly toward the house.

Explanation:

The boy's legs is compared to lead weights. Focus must be kept only on the "boy's legs to lead weights". This connotes that he must've have been unhappy, thus he was walking slowly, when figuratively said, that his legs were heavy causing the slow movement.
