Answer: Election results were easier to falsify. (I don't know if there is another one, but one answer is B)

Explanation: Originally, the Electoral College offered the Constitutional Convention a middle ground between two major proposals: popular presidential election and presidential election by Congress.

For two reasons, the Electoral College was established. The initial goal was to create a buffer between the population and the presidential election. The second was as part of the government's structure, which gave smaller states more influence.

Which president is given credit for the constitution of the panama canal
leva [86]
That was President Theodore Roosevelt. However a little back story on the Canal is that the US government actually covertly started and funded the Panamanian Revolution which separated Panama from Columbia and in the end the US forced Panama into giving up the land that would eventually be the Panama Canal however the US covered their tracks and formed an agreement with France to make it seem as if France had bought the land so it was all legit on the international scene then France handed it over to the US who completed the construction of the canal. <span />

Where was the tariff of abominations signed?
MakcuM [25]
It was signed on May 19, 1828 during the presidency of John Quincy Adams. It was passed by Congress. It set a tariff (tax) on imported goods. The tariff was designed to protect the northern industry, causing the southern states to be hit dramatically,  which is why it was considered a reason leading to the Civil War.
