First, you have to introduce yourself focusing in create a personal connection. It's important to project confidence. Shake hands with him, because you have to demonstrate that you're friendly (use the correct technique). Tell him your first and last name and, if applicable to the position you're applying for.

Second, you have to request an application (when you know the company accepts applications on an ongoing basis). Show initiative. If possible, you have to know how the company's hiring process works, try to buy some time doing that (to answer questions).

And Third, you have to speak to him, face-to-face, and explain your qualifications and why you want to work at that company. Select a few of your most impressive qualifications and prior jobs. Explain why you're applying there and how it fits into your career plans. Make it short. Don’t monopolize the manager's time.
