Answer:

Rogue waves are an open water phenomenon, in which winds, currents, non-linear phenomena such as solitons, and other circumstances cause a wave to briefly form that is far larger than the "average" large occurring wave (the significant wave height or "SWH") of that time and place.

Answer:

The theme of the story rogue wave is to never give up because there is ALWAYS a way to succeed. For example, even though Sully knew that Scoot couldn't hear him, he used mental telepathy and kept on saying that she could escape out of the skylight. His words even kept on going until it sounded like a mantra. Scoot also tried many ways to escape. Some things that show that she never gave up is that she tried to escape. She first found the flashlight. Then she couldn't undo the dogs, so she didn't give up and instead went to find a wrench from the toolbox. Then she went to undo the dogs. When all the dogs came out, she tried to push the glass out. It cracked a little but she resurfaced for air. The outside sea pressure was just too strong. On her sixth dive, she finally cracked it open and escaped. If it was on her sixth dive, that means she had to have kept on trying until she opened the window. That also proves that the theme of "Rogue Wave" by Theodore Taylor is in fact that you should never give up because there is always a way to succeed. That is not all that proves the theme. This is the theme because it is not just exhibited in those ways. Another way is that Sully and Scoot communicate through tapping and pounding. They never stop trying to communicate because then Sully will think that Scoot is dead, and Scoot will think that Sully is dead or that he thinks that she is dead. Sully also thinks that "Maybe the best hope for poor Scoot was that she was already dead, but he had to determine whether she was still alive." This shows that he doesn't want to give up in thinking that Scoot is still alive. Another possible theme could be that family always comes first. This is shown by the fact that Sully does not try to swim to the shore and leave his sister to die all alo

Free_Kalibri [48]

Answer:

Logos or the appeal to logic is the use of logic or reason to persuade an audience. i.e. You should stop eating that chocolate or you will probably get sick?

Explanation:

Pathos appeals to the audience's emotions and evokes feelings.

Logos or the appeal to logic is the use of logic or reason to persuade an audience.

Ethos  It is an appeal to authority and credibility in persuasive language. Ensuring an audience of the speaker/or writer's argument's reliability or credibility. Making yourself (or your argument) appear credible and trustworthy will help you persuade your audience.
