A common theme in dystopian literature is total concern for the truth

English

Hi there!

Yeah, it's strange. I mean, I understand how we could be concerned about the truth, but if you look at what's happening with the government right now, it's understandable how we could end up in a dystopia disguised as a utopia (which we may already live in, but let me not get into my conspiracy theories lol.)  But if this is a true or false question, which you didn't specify, the answer would be true.

Hope this helps!

- Chris

Sort the elements used by Rosa Parks in her memoir and those used by Rita Dove in her poem.
Blababa [14]

Answer:

Rosa Parks's Memoir- first person, paragraphs , several scenes.

Rita Dove's Poem- lines and stanzas, third person, a single scene.

Explanation:

The memoir of Rosa Parks is written in the first person, meaning it is written in her own words and from her own perspective. It involves numerous scenes where she recounts the events from her perspective. And since it is a memoir, meaning it covers a time span of more than a single event, the passages are written in paragraphs.

Rita Dove's poem, on the other hand, is written in lines and stanzas. And they are written in the third person's point of view. Added to that, the poems are written about a single scene, where the poet talks about a single scene.

Why do you think Bly's editor told her to describe what she found no matter how positive or negative it may be?
DerKrebs [107]

Answer:

This is because, as a journalist, she owed the public the duty to report the truth free from personal bias or opinions.

Explanation:

Nellie Bly was a famous journalist in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She was especially known for going under cover or disguising her self, to obtain sensitive information. Her editor at the Newspapers establishment she worked in, encouraged her to write up things as she finds them; good or bad, and to write the truth at all times.

This instruction must have been given as this was a basic requirement for every excellent journalist. Unbiased, true, and accurate reports are among the required and fundamental ethics of the job.
